Momentum building for Christmas, New Year celebrations in Vizag

Visakhapatnam: With Christmas and New Year fast approaching, preparations have started for celebrating the two events in the port city of Visakhapatnam. Event managers are lining up celebrations and musical performances. Business establishments are enticing customers with additional discounts and year-end sales, making shopping a vibrant and wallet-friendly affair.

The city's transformation for the two events is particularly evident in its markets. They have been decorated for Christmas and New Year celebrations. Cheerful Santa Clauses and twinkling stars form the frontage. Cake-mixing events are being held throughout the city.

Visakhapatnam is featuring three notable musical events to draw crowds of revellers. Music enthusiasts can look forward to singer Ram Mirayala's music show and DJ night on Sunday. The excitement will continue with singer Sri Ram Chandra's music show on December 31. These apart, there are numerous New Year party events.

For those preferring a more relaxed atmosphere, the Beach Party at Rushikonda has packages beginning from ₹1,699. There are electrifying events featuring EDM beats and deals starting at ₹3,999. There has been a surge in hotel bookings, as people seek unique ways to welcome the New Year. Many hotels are offering exclusive packages, including entertainment options, festive dinners and overnight stays.
Transport services are high in demand. Nakkapu Satish, owner of a private tours and travels company, told Deccan Chronicle that 80 per cent of his vehicles have already been booked from December 22 to January 2 for various destinations, including ASR district.
Rental cars cost ₹2,300 for 10 hours with ₹13 per kilometre. Larger seven-seat vehicles are priced ₹5,000 for 10 hours with ₹15 per kilometre.

Travel agencies reveal that people are also opting for international destinations, such as Vatican City, Singapore and Thailand for their holiday.
