Visakhapatnam: The Indian Navy and the city of Visakhapatnam are set to come together once again for the Vizag Navy Marathon (VNM) on December 15, 2024. This year, the Navy has introduced a unique "Strengthening and Conditioning" program to prepare participants for the event, showcasing its commitment to the city's well-being.

The programme, which kicked off on June 2, 2024, aims to improve the fitness and endurance of participants through a series of training sessions on RK Beach. The first edition saw over 250 participants, including children and women, who displayed remarkable strength and determination despite the warm weather. The event was a grand success, with enthusiastic participants looking to improve their timings and build their fitness.

The next edition of the programme is scheduled for July 7, 2024, and registrations are now open on the official website, www.vtra.run. The program includes bibs, coaching, hydration, and refreshments, with selected runners receiving T-shirts during the sessions.

The marathon route is strategically designed to provide a breathtaking view of the city's iconic landmarks, with the azure waters of the Bay of Bengal serving as a stunning backdrop. The Indian Navy's involvement in the event highlights its dedication to the city's well-being and its commitment to ensuring that VNM-24 embodies the true essence of Visakhapatnam.
