Over 10,000 awarded degrees in 20th SRMIST convocation

Vijayawada: The 20th (special) convocation of the SRM Institute of Science and Technology (SRMIST) was held on Friday at Kattankulathur. A total of 10,848 students of UG, PG, and PhD programmes in science and humanities, medicine and health sciences, management, law, and agricultural sciences were awarded their degrees.
The chief guest was Prof. Mahesh Chandra Misra, former director of the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), New Delhi.
In his address to a full auditorium, Prof. Misra encouraged the graduates to be willing to learn, unlearn, and relearn and to be up to date in all aspects of a fulfilled life. Further, he advised them to lead healthy and positive lives.
SRMIST founder chancellor Dr T.R. Paarivendhar presided over the ceremony along with Pro-Chancellor (academics) Dr P. Sathyanarayanan. The annual report was presented by Vice Chancellor Prof. C. Muthamizhchelvan.
