Pawan Explains Plan to Turn AP into Tourism Hub
Deputy CM pushes for adventure parks, eco and temple tourism development
Vijayawada: Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan has said the state government would evolve an action plan to develop the tourism sector and generate employment opportunities for youths.
Kalyan presided over a meeting in Mangalagiri on Monday with endowment minister Anam Ramnarayana, tourism minister Kandula Durgesh and roads and investments minister Janardhan Reddy.
The meeting focused on plans to develop diverse temple, eco, adventure and heritage tourism along with implementing the promises made by the state’s alliance government for developing the tourism spots in AP.
Pawan Kalyan said AP has immense potential for the temple, eco, adventure and heritage tourism. “We aim to transform the state into a tourism hub, tapping the enormous untapped potential in the sector.”
Referring to the adventure theme parks developed in Karnataka and Kerala, Pawan Kalyan said, “Let us also develop similar parks in Adoni and Dondapadu areas of Kurnool district and Siddavatam in the united Kadapa district.”
He said adventure parks would provide employment opportunities to unemployed youths and entertainment options for students.
“Andhra Pradesh is blessed with scenic tourist and heritage sites like the Gandikota, the Horsley Hills, the Gudimallam temple in the Tirupati district, the Coringa Wildlife Sanctuary in Kakinada district and various wildlife parks across the state,” he said. PK suggested utilising cinema as a platform to promote tourism locations.
He emphasised the need for organising programmes in villages to create awareness among the people about the significance of cultural norms and appropriate dress codes to uphold the sanctity of temples.
The deputy CM also suggested that the authorities identify locations associated with the Freedom and social reformation movements and develop them as tourism spots. Measures should also be taken to protect heritage sites that were damaged due to indiscriminate mining during the previous YSRC term, he said.
