Visakhapatnam: Prime Minister Narendra Modi would interact online with tribals from the ASR district on October 2, Gandhi Jayanti Day. This is as part of the PM Janjati Adivasi Nyaya Maha Abhiyan (PM-JANMAN) programme.

Tribal villagers would gather at Palanakudi village in Araku Valley mandal when the PM interacts with the tribals hailing from Jharkhand.

Project officer of the ITDA, V Abhishek, has said all necessary arrangements were in place.

The PM would virtually inaugurate two Eklavya Model Residential Schools, at Pedabayalu and Araku Valley mandals, constructed with a budget of `40 crore. He would also participate in the 'Bhoomi Pooja' to mark the start of construction of two more schools -- at Hukumpeta and Chintapalli.

The PM JANMAN aims to enhance the socio-economic conditions of particularly vulnerable tribal groups (PVTGs). The programme encompasses various initiatives to furnish basic facilities and sustainable livelihood opportunities to PVTG households and habitations.

The event was previously conducted in Araku Valley in January last, where 6,600 PVTG tribals from Paderu received `70,000 each as the first instalment of the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (PMAY).
