Visakhapatnam: Under the Pradhan Mantri Schools for Rising India (PMSHRI) scheme, 19 schools received funds to the tune of Rs 141 crore in Parvatipuram Manyam district, informed district collector A. Shyam Prasad. Out of 243 schools applied for the scheme from the district, 19 schools were selected.

“In the PM SHRI Schools every student is taken care of. They can expect a safe and stimulating learning environment. The school would have very good infrastructure and resources conducive to learning. It will nurture students in a way that they become engaged, productive and contributing citizens for nation-building,” the collector explained.

The collector said "Holistic Cards" would be given to the students to notice their nutritional levels and would be given grading according to their haemoglobin levels. Websites and social media platforms were created in the schools, the collector said. Learning from the PM SHRI schools will be replicated in other schools. The scheme is proposed to be implemented over five years between 2022-23 and 2026-27 academic years.
