Polavaram diaphragm wall construction to be launched on Jan. 2, 2025

Amaravati: All arrangements are being made for the construction of diaphragm wall of the multi-purpose Polavaram project. The construction works would begin on January 2, 2025.
The works of the diaphragm wall have been entrusted to Bauer, a German company. The Centre has given complete freedom to the state government with regard to Polavaram project.
Information about the construction date has been conveyed to the Union Jal Shakti department, Union Water Commission, Polavaram Project Authority (PPA).
The Water Commission had made it clear to the main contract company Megha Engineering that it should not over interfere into Bauer's works.
Bauer is busy shifting all the equipment necessary for the wall's construction. Trench cutters and cranes have already been made available at the project site.
By December 28, de-sanding plant, pumps and other concrete relating machinery would be brought to the project site.
A laboratory would also be made available by December 30. After the earth-cum-rockfill dam reaches a height of 600 mts, Megha will takeover the works.
