VIJAYAWADA: A principal and two teachers of AP Model School at Karempudi mandal in Palnadu district were suspended while three outsourcing employees of the school terminated from service on Thursday.

Tension erupted in the school when several parents started beating up school teacher B. Ravi Kumar and outsourcing employee Sk. Khajavali on charges of misbehaving with four girl students.

The school authorities had called the parents for the election of the school management committee.

Based on a preliminary inquiry, post-graduate teacher B. Ravi Kumar and junior assistant Sk. Khajavali were allegedly misbehaving with the girls while another post-graduate teacher in Chemistry G Subhasri failed to respond even after she was alerted about the development. School principal K. As the students beat up the teacher and the junior assistant, Karempudi SI was alerted and in his presence, the students and their parents gave a petition to the Palnadu district education officer on the misbehavior of the teacher and the junior assistant.

Accordingly, principal K. Naomi Gethesmarie and two teachers B. Ravi Kumar and G. Subhasri were suspended and three outsourcing staff terminated.

Palnadu DEO M. Venkateswarlu said, “I have visited the school and inquired with the students and parents about the misbehaviour of a teacher and a junior assistant with the girls and based on a preliminary inquiry, action was initiated against the principal and the teachers.”
