Kurnool:Law and minority welfare minister N. Md. Farooq praised government teachers for their skill and dedication, urging them to provide exemplary education to pave the way for children’s future. He said during the guru pujotsavam celebration in Nandyal on Thursday that the teachers had a crucial role in shaping the future of students.

Addressing the gathering, he expressed gratitude to his own teachers, whom he credited as the main inspiration behind his entry into politics. Farooq also highlighted the significant role of teachers in driving political and social change. He extended his thanks to all government employees, pensioners, and teachers’ unions for their generosity in donating one day’s salary to aid those affected by the recent heavy rains and floods in the state.

District collector G. Raja Kumari described the teaching profession as sacred and stressed the importance of instilling not just academic knowledge but also values such as humility, obedience, and culture. She emphasised that every teacher had the potential to be the best and she said that the state government was committed to enhancing education and healthcare services. The aim is to improve pass rates and foster strong moral values among students using available government resources, she added.

During the event, 59 outstanding teachers were felicitated by Farooq and the collector for their exemplary contributions. Director of Shantiram Educational Institutions Sivaram, DEO Sudhakar Reddy, and others were present.

Further, in Kurnool, 23 teachers were felicitated during a ceremony attended by local MP B. Nagaraju, Panyam MLA G. Charita Reddy, collector P. Ranjit Basha, and others.
