Road Connectivity Between AP and TG Disrupted

 Vijayawada: Incessant rains have lashed parts of Telangana and Andhra Pradesh, leading to floodwater from the Munneru stream overflowing onto the Vijayawada-Hyderabad NH-65 at Ithavaram village in Nandigama Mandal, disrupting vehicular movement between the two Telugu states on Sunday.

As a precautionary measure, revenue and police personnel suspended vehicular movement, stopping vehicles heading towards Hyderabad at the Chillakallu toll plaza and those going towards Vijayawada at the Keesara toll plaza, resulting in vehicles being stranded for kilometres on the national highway. Nandigama RDO Ravinder Rao stated that vehicular movement will be restored once the floodwater recedes on the national highway.

In addition, vehicular traffic on the Vijayawada-Visakhapatnam highway was affected after floodwater overflowed onto the national highway near the Kalaparru toll plaza in Krishna district.
