 Visakhapatnam: Srikakulam sub-divisional officer (SDO) C.H. Vivekanand, who is also the DSP, has called for heightened vigilance and community involvement in managing anti-social activities in villages. Addressing women police officers at a meeting on Tuesday, the SDO emphasised the importance of providing comprehensive information on local disturbances, identifying old criminals, and monitoring suspicious activities.

The SDO highlighted the role of women police in maintaining public safety and advised them to establish strong relationships with the local people. He also stressed the need to create awareness about the dangers of drug use, especially among students, and urged the officers to identify and act against those involved in the sale of ganja to schoolchildren.

CI K. Paidipu Naidu advised citizens to be cautious of the rising tide of cybercrimes. He warned of the various scams, including fraudulent activities on social media platforms and fake gift offers that have become prevalent in the digital age. The CI advised them to inform the toll-free number 1930 for reporting cybercrimes.

CI V. Umamaheswara Rao called for the installation of CCTV cameras in housing complexes as a measure to deter theft and other property crimes. He noted that monitoring the movements of known offenders could significantly reduce crime rates. He also highlighted the issue of drug addiction among youth, particularly in suburban areas.
