Student from Khammam drowns in US

KHAMMAM: A 20-year-old student from Khammam, Kiran Kumar Raju Srinadharaju lost his life in a drowning incident at Sand Hills Town of Missouri state in the United States.

A native of Chinnakorukondi village of Kalluru mandal in Khamma district, Kiran was studying MS (Information Systems) in St. Luis University. After completing B. Sc. in computer science from Osmania university, he had gone to the US last November to pursue higher studies.

The family members of Kiran received the information Sunday evening from his college and the Indian Consulate.

On Saturday, Kiran, along with three friends, went to a community swimming pool at Sand Hills Town. He drowned in the waters as he did not know swimming.

Kiran Kumar’s mother resides in Hyderabad. His father had died a few years back.

Meanwhile, a pall of gloom descended on Chinnakorukondi after news of Kiran’s death kept flashing on news channels.
