Swarna Rathotsavam conducted at Srisailam

Kurnool: A grand Swarna Rathotsavam (Golden Chariot Festival) was held at Srisailam on Tuesday in honour of Sri Bhramaramba Mallikarjuna Swamy Utsava Murty during the auspicious Arudra Nakshatram. The revered deities, Swamy and Ammavaru, were carried in a magnificent golden chariot through the temple’s mada streets, drawing thousands of devotees to witness the procession.

The event began with special rituals performed by the priests before the Rathotsavam commenced in the morning. The procession moved from the Temple Mahadwaram and passed through the four Mada Streets surrounding the temple.

Traditional cultural performances, including Kolatam (a folk dance) and Mangala Vadyam (auspicious music), added to the grandeur of the event. Temple executive officer Chandrasekhar Azad, along with priests, Vedic scholars, and other officials, participated in the procession.

Additionally, the temple’s hundi collections were counted on Tuesday, revealing a total of ₹4.14 crore. The funds had accumulated over the past 26 days. The temple also received donations in foreign currencies, including 739 US dollars, 100 Canadian dollars, 205 Singapore dollars, 135 Australian dollars, and 2 Malaysian Ringgits. Devotees made offerings of 322.3 grams of gold and 8.52 kilograms of silver.
