TD MLA Raghurama Krishnam Raju filed nomination for AP Legislative Assembly Deputy Speaker; likely to elect unopposed

Vijayawada:Nominations for the position of Deputy Speaker of the Andhra Pradesh Legislative Assembly were filed on Wednesday, with MLA K Raghurama Krishnam Raju being proposed for the role.

The nomination, put forward on behalf of the NDA coalition, was endorsed by leaders from three parties within the alliance. The nomination papers were submitted to Assembly Secretary General Suryadevara Prasanna Kumar by several ministers representing the NDA coalition parties.

In line with the NDA's decision, Raghurama Krishnam Raju's name was proposed for the Deputy Speaker position, with three separate nominations submitted from each of the coalition's constituent parties.

The nominations were signed by leaders from the Telugu Desam, Jana Sena, and Bharatiya Janata Party. Nara Lokesh, Minister for Human Resources Development, signed on behalf of the TD. Deputy Chief Minister Konidela Pawan Kalyan endorsed it for the Jana Sena Party, while Vishnu Kumar Raju signed for the BJP.

The nominations were submitted by 4:30 PM, as the deadline for filing closed at 5 PM. With no other nominations filed before the cut-off, it is anticipated that Raghurama Krishnam Raju will be declared elected unopposed as Deputy Speaker by tomorrow noon.

Prominent figures present at the nomination event included Ministers Nara Lokesh, Payyavula Keshav, K. Atchannaidu, N. Manohar, Satyakumar Yadav, and TD state president Palla Srinivasa Rao, among others.
