Tirupati Stampede: AP Home Minister Gives Away Rs 25L Cheque to 4 Dependents

Visakhapatnam: State home minister Vangalapudi Anitha handed over cheques to the dependents of the four deceased from Visakhapatnam and Narsipatnam, who were killed in the stampede at Lord Venkateswara temple in Tirupati, recently. Each of the victim’s kin received a cheque of Rs 25 lakh, which was part of the government’s assistance initiative.

The minister emphasised the government’s commitment to stand in support of the next of kin of the deceased. She also made an announcement that details were taken to provide one dependent of each deceased, a contract job in the Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) and free education to their children.

Three of the victims were from Visakhapatnam and one from Narsipatnam.

Speaking further, she said that the initiative underscores the government’s commitment to provide financial assistance and long-term support to next of the kin of the deceased.
