TD Payyavula Kesav breaks jinx by winning from Uravakonda Assembly segment
ANANTAPUR: Negative sentiment of the Uravakonda Assembly segment in Anantapur district had a break as the MLA from the place will be in the ruling party after 25 years. Sentimental fears have been for both TD and YSRC since 1994 even as own party leaders from other segments pray for defeat of their own party candidate . The MLAs elected from the Uravakonda Assembly segment since 1999 had to sit in opposition to either TD, Congress or YSRC. Presently, TD candidate Payyavula Kesav won with 21 thousands majority against his nearest rival Y Visweswar Reddy of YSRC.
Interestingly, leaders of both parties from other parts of the state sought defeat of their own party candidate either YSRC or TD this election in view of sentiment fixed in the minds of all political parties. Even candidates and their aides were with negative sentiment of opposition but made efforts to gain victory.
Payyavula Kesav, who won with a huge majority of 21 thousands from Uravakonda told DC the TD with serious effort to break the negative sentiment and mentally brought the cadres towards positive during TD chief N Chandrababu Naidu tour in Uravakonda. “I was elected as MLA in 1994 where TD was voted to power. However, after 25 years we created a history of breaking negative sentiment in Uravakonda and people will witness development”, Kesav told DC.
Uravakonda had suffered a lot even as their MLA was never in the ruling party in the last two-and-a-half decades and even drinking water issue was not solved though Uravakonda had PAB Reservoir and other sources because of differences between opposition party MLA and ruling party incharges.
