TTD Presents Report to CM Naidu on Ghee Adulteration
Naidu invited for Tirumala Brahmotsavam
VIJAYAWADA: In a significant meeting held at Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu's residence in Undavalli on Sunday, TTD Executive Officer Shyamala Rao provided a detailed briefing about recent developments at the temple. He also invited the chief minister for the upcoming Brahmotsavams festival being held atop the world-famous pilgrim centre of Tirumala from October 4.
Shyamala Rao presented a report on the alarming findings of ‘adulteration’ in the ghee used for the laddu prasadam at the sacred temple. The state government is expected to order a comprehensive investigation into the TTD affairs soon.
Meanwhile, TTD officials are preparing for Monday’s Mahashanthi Yaga at the Tirumala Srivari Temple. The priests will conduct the homam in the temple's yaga hall from 6am to 10 am, aligning the ceremony with the auspicious Rohini Nakshatra.
The rituals will commence with the Maha Shanti Yagam and Vastu Homam and conclude with a Samprokshan involving Panchagavya offerings.
The preliminary report submitted by the TTD EO is under examination and agencies including the CBI could be called in to hold a thorough probe. An announcement about the kind of investigation into the TTD issues is likely tomorrow.
TTD officials explained that recommendations by the expert committee would aim at improving the quality of ghee, the testing process and establishment of the testing lab at Tirumala. TTD EO J.
