Tirupati: The Red Sanders Anti-Smuggling Task Force (RSASTF) seized 19 red sanders logs and arrested two smugglers in the Satyavedu forest area, Tirupati district, on Wednesday.
Acting on orders from Tirupati SP L. Subba Rayudu, the task force, led by SP P. Srinivas, conducted a combing operation near SK Madugu in the Birakuppam section. On Wednesday morning, the team spotted individuals carrying red sanders logs near Bhupatheswara Kona.
When confronted, the smugglers fled, abandoning the logs. However, two suspects from Nagalapuram, Tirupati district, were apprehended and taken to the Tirupati task force police station.
