Two Killed in Road Mishap at Machilipatnam–Vijayawada Highway

 Vijayawada: Two men lost their lives when an overspeeding tipper lorry struck them near the 14th milestone on the Machilipatnam–Vijayawada national highway, under Pamarru police jurisdiction, on Wednesday. The victims, identified as Syed Abdul Khadar (48) and Rahman Baig (38), were construction workers from Angaluru village in Gudlavalleru Mandal, Krishna district.

Pamarru SI Ch. Avinash reported that the two men had been working on cement construction at a rice mill near the highway. Around 1:30 pm, they attempted to cross the road after a brief break when the tipper lorry, travelling towards Vijayawada, fatally struck them. Their bodies have been moved to Gudivada Government Hospital for postmortem. A case has been filed, and investigations are ongoing.
