Two Youths Die During Festivities

Kurnool:During the Ganesh Chaturthi festivities on Monday, two youths died in separate incidents in Allagadda mandal, Nandyal district. According to sources, Ashok, 32, a resident of Ashrama Street in Allagadda town, collapsed suddenly while dancing in the Vinayaka immersion procession. He was rushed to the local government hospital, where doctors confirmed he had suffered a cardiac arrest and died.

In another incident at Ahobilam, Lal Basha, 12, was swept away by the strong currents of the Telugu Ganga canal during the immersion of a Ganesh idol. Despite locals rescuing three of his friends, Lal Basha's body had not been recovered as of Monday evening. The Allagadda police have registered cases for both incidents and initiated investigations.
