'Unauthorised' constructions: Notices issued to YSR Congress offices in Kurnool, Adoni

Kurnool: Citing “unauthorised construction” of YSRC party buildings in Kurnool and Adoni towns, officials have issued notices to the party and given it seven days’ time to come up with an explanation.

In Adoni, the municipal town planning department issued the notices to YSRC building leaseholder Erriswamy. In Kurnool city, the civic authorities issued notices to the district party president and corporator, S. Satyanarayanamma, for “violation of the construction rules.”

While the notice was dated June 24, it was delivered on Tuesday. Within hours, Satyanarayanamma sent a five-page reply to the municipal commissioner, stating that they had paid a Vacant Land Tax of `25.09 lakh.

Rumours circulated that information about the notices had leaked, prompting a quick response from the party leaders, though they did not address the aspect of total arrears.

Adoni MLA V. Parthasarathy said action would be taken against “unauthorised” construction of the YSRC office in the town. He said an old NGO building, worth crores of rupees, was leased to the party for just `40 lakh for 99 years.
