Vijayawada: The water level in the Godavari River is receding, and the second warning is expected to be withdrawn by early Friday.

At 9 pm, the water level was recorded at 14.30 feet, with a discharge of 13.54 lakh cusecs at Sir Arthur Cotton Barrage in Dowleswaram. If the level falls below 13.75 feet, the second warning will be lifted. It is anticipated that the first warning, set at 11.75 feet, will also be withdrawn by Friday afternoon as the water level continues to drop.

At Bhadrachalam, the water level is also declining and was recorded at 41.19 feet at 9 pm.

Residents of low-lying areas in the agency regions and islands in Konaseema, who have been affected by flooding, are feeling relieved as the water level in the Godavari River begins to fall.
