Vijayawada:YSRC spokesperson and former MLC Jupudi Prabhakar Rao condemned the removal of Dr. B.R. Ambedkar's name from his statue at Swaraj Maidan in Vijayawada, describing it as a blatant act of disrespect toward the architect of the Constitution. Speaking at the party's central office, he criticized the Telugu Desam coalition government's neglect, asserting that this action demonstrates a clear disregard for Ambedkar’s legacy and public sentiment.

He expressed concern that this incident is part of a larger conspiracy to replace the statue and transfer the Swaraj Maidan area to the Lulu Group for development purposes. Prabhakar Rao further criticized the government's inaction, noting that when former Chief Minister YS Jagan's name was also removed from the site, there was no accountability.

He alleged that TD and Jana Sena leaders have been supporting anti-Ambedkar policies aligned with the BJP, aiming to erase Ambedkar’s legacy from public memory. He urged the government to take immediate action against the perpetrators, warning that failure to do so would compel the Ambedkar community to respond strongly.
