YSRC government stopped 93 central schemes: FM Keshav
Says state saw three-fold increase in debts during 5-year YSRC rule
Vijayawada:The past five years saw a three-fold increase in Andhra Pradesh’s debts, Finance Minister Payyavula Keshav has stated in the legislative Assembly.
“The day Chandrababu Naidu left office in 2019, the debts of AP were ` 3.75 lakh crore; and when the Jagan Reddy government left office, the debts were `9.70 lakh crore,” he said.
Keshav said, “The Jagan-led government did not give funds to sarpanches even as their leaders were in the village sarpanch posts. Our government released `1450 crore to the villages without any bias.”
The minister also said the YSRC government did not pay `175 crore for the chikkis distributed to school children. The Chandrababu government cleared the dues and allocated a sum of `810 crore for roads now, he said.
Regarding the allotment of `15,000 crore to capital Amaravati, Keshav said the Central government will soon make it clear if the funds were given as loan or as a grant.
He said the Bhumi Puja for the railway zone would be done soon. “It has been decided to complete national highways in AP in two and a half years with funds of `55,000 crore. The central government gave AP`5700 crore under devolution provisions.” Every visit of chief minister Chandrababu naidu and the ministers to Delhi brings benefit to the state.”
He said the state government would set up NEET coaching centers for Dalit students.
The finance minister said, “The YSRC government has stopped 93 schemes of the central government here. It has also stopped the 100 per cent grant scheme. Now, in order to revive each scheme, the state has to put in 40 per cent of the funds.”
