Hyderabad: The Drugs Control Administration (DCA) of Telangana has issued a public notice on the circulation of a counterfeit version of Pulmosil Injection (Sildenafil Injection) 10 mg/12.5 ml, Batch No. KFA0300, with a manufacturing date of June 2023 and an expiry date of May 2025.

This counterfeit drug, purportedly manufactured by Sun Pharmaceutical Industries Ltd. in Turkapally, Medchal-Malkajgiri district, has been found to contain fungus in sealed vials.
The DCA has urged all druggists and medical professionals to immediately cease the sale of this counterfeit batch and report any occurrences to the authorities.
The counterfeit Pulmosil Injection can be identified by specific markers, including the white flip-off cap.
Drugs Control Administration Director General VB Kamalasan Reddy highlighted the severe health risks posed by the counterfeit product and emphasized the need for vigilance among consumers and healthcare providers.
The administration has issued a Spurious/Counterfeit Drug Alert and Stop Use Notice to prevent any further distribution and use of the contaminated drug.
The public is advised to be cautious and ensure the authenticity of the medications they purchase.
Any suspicious products should be reported to the DCA immediately to protect public health.
