Bengaluru Student Raped by Unidentified Biker, Police Launch Manhunt
Bengaluru: A final year student (21) studying in a College is alleged to have been raped by an unidentified person, a biker, under HSR police station in Bengaluru city on Sunday in between 1 am to 1.30 am.
As per the preliminary investigation by the police, it is said the girl took lift from an unknown biker from Koramangala after a get together party. After the get together, the girl is said to have left Koramangala alone while she came to the party venue with her friend. It is unclear whether she picked up a fight in the get together party to leave alone to her residence in Hebbagodi, a suburb in Bengaluru city.
Sources said the victim's car collided with two auto rickshaws after she left the get together party and took an auto to reach her destination. Mid-way the victim is said to have alighted from the auto to take another auto to her home.
In the meantime, she came across an unidentified biker and asked him for a lift. The biker took advantage of the situation and rode to a secluded place surrounded by petty shops where he is alleged to have raped her before fleeing from the spot.
Later the victim informed one of her friends who came to her rescue from the spot. The victim was taken to a private hospital where she is undergoing treatment.
Additional Commissioner of Police (East) Raman Gupta told reporters the victim was in stable condition and five teams have been constituted to nab the accused person. Investigations are underway and a rape case has been registered.
Gupta ruled out gang rape and a person is the suspect in the case. He exuded confidence of nabbing the accused soon.
