Mangaluru: A gang of dacoits broke into a house in the Ulaibettu area within the jurisdiction of the Mangaluru Rural Police Station on Friday night.
According to police reports, a gang of 8-9 masked persons, dressed in shirts and pants, entered the house of Padmanabha Kotiyan, a PWD contractor, between 7.45 pm and 8.10 pm.
Armed with knives, the dacoits threatened the family members, binding them with bedsheets.
They instructed the family to cooperate, stating they only wanted cash.

Padmanabha suffered injury on his right hand as he was attacked with a knife.
A case has been registered at the Rural Police Station, and an investigation is underway.
