Bangalore: Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah on Wednesday said that there is no pressure on the government to change the Special Public Prosecutor in the Renukaswamy murder case.

Siddaramaiah wrote on X, "There is no pressure from any Minister or MLA to change the Special Public Prosecutor in the Renukaswamy murder case. I will not listen to all of them if I am pressured."
The Chief Minister said that the investigation of the Renukaswamy murder case will be done according to the law. "The police have been given complete freedom in the investigation of the case," he added.
Calling the media reports on the change of the Special Public Prosecutor as 'fictitious', the Karnataka CM said,"The proposal to change the SPP has not come before me so far."

On June 11, Actor Darshan Thoogudeepa, Pavithra Gowda and his 17 aides were arrested for the alleged murder of 33-year-old Renukaswamy.
According to police sources, Renukaswamy was murdered because he had allegedly sent abusive messages to Pavithra Gowda on social media.
