Vijayapura: In a sharp retort to Union Minister HD Kumaraswamy's remarks, Chief Minister Siddaramaiah asserted that "it doesn’t take a hundred Siddaramaiahs to arrest Kumaraswamy; one police constable is enough."

Siddaramaiah's comment comes in response to Kumaraswamy's statement that even a hundred Siddaramaiahs wouldn’t be able to arrest him.

"I am not needed to arrest him. A single police constable will suffice," he retorted when reporters questioned him about Kumaraswamy's statement.

"It is the police department, not me, that arrests anyone. Kumaraswamy held a press conference today because he is scared. A commission has been set up for a comprehensive investigation, and the truth will come out. Whether what Kumaraswamy is saying is true or not will be clarified through the investigation," said Chief Minister Siddaramaiah.

Addressing the ongoing MUDA (Mysuru Urban Development Authority) case, Siddaramaiah emphasized that no inquiry, report, letter, or order had been issued against him.

"During the relevant period, I was neither the Chief Minister nor a minister, so I had no influence. Kumaraswamy often makes 'hit-and-run' allegations. In the Assembly, he claimed to have a pen drive, but none of his accusations have ever reached a logical conclusion. If he has any documents, he should release them," Siddaramaiah said.

Responding to claims that he tampered with records, Siddaramaiah dismissed the allegations as unfounded.

"I haven’t tampered with any documents. The land allotment was not based on the 2014 letter but on the 2021 letter. At that time, the MUDA board chairman was from the BJP, and the board members were mostly from the BJP and JD(S). So, who is responsible for the allotment made during that period? Who was the CM then? It was Basavaraj Bommai. A commission has been formed, and appropriate action will be taken after the investigation report is submitted," Siddaramaiah explained.
