Karnataka Govt Orders High-Level Inquiry into KKRDB Irregularities

Kalaburagi: The Karnataka government has initiated a high-level inquiry into alleged irregularities involving the Kalyana Karnataka Regional Development Board (KKRDB) and the Kalyana Karnataka Human Resource Agricultural and Cultural Association (KKHRACA).
Retired IAS officer Sudhir Kumar has been appointed to lead the probe, following a preliminary report by former Additional Chief Secretary Dr EV Ramana Reddy.
According to the government order issued on November 11, Sudheer Kumar is tasked with examining complaints of misuse of funds and other discrepancies within these organizations, which play a vital role in the development of the Kalyana Karnataka region. He has been given a six-month deadline to complete the investigation and submit a comprehensive report.
To support the investigation, the KKRDB and the Kalaburagi Deputy Commissioner have been directed to provide the necessary infrastructure, including office space, vehicles, and access to documents and technical staff.
The government emphasized that KKRDB and association officials must promptly cooperate by supplying any requested documents or information without delay.
The probe will look into the grants and disbursements released to Kalyan Karnataka Regional Development Board during the period 2020-21 to 2022-23, About the illegal spending of Rs.300 crores released to Kalyana Karnataka Human Resources, Agriculture and Cultural Association, regarding irregularities in procurement of medicines and medical equipments in connection with Covid-19 under Kalyana Karnataka Development Grant, Rs 50,000 to private school teachers who died of covid 19 without government approval, expenditure of Rs.327.40 crores beyond the jurisdiction in the form of incentives for rearing domestic cattle and others.
