Lokapur Railway Station Opens for Goods Traffic to Boost Regional Economy

BAGALKOT: In a move that would help in enhancing freight operations and promoting regional economic growth, South Western Railway has announced the opening of Lokapur Railway Station in Bagalkot district for goods traffic, effective immediately.

Located in Mudhol Taluk of Bagalkot district, Lokapur Station falls under the Hubballi Division of South Western Railway.

Strategically positioned in an area known for its sugarcane and cement industries, the station is expected to significantly benefit these industries by providing a more efficient and reliable transportation option for their goods.

According to a press statement from the South Western Railway, the station will handle all types of goods, both incoming and outgoing, except for petroleum, oil, lubricants (POL), and crane consignments. The station will operate daily from 6 am to 10 pm ensuring optimal service for freight operations.

The opening of Lokapur Station is part of the railway's broader initiative to streamline freight movements and support the growing needs of local industries.

By providing an additional gateway for goods transportation, this development is expected to improve operational efficiency and facilitate smoother logistics across the region.
