Kerala: Anwar Denies Working Against the Party

Thiruvananthapuram: P V Anvar denies Govindan's accusations, asserting he never sought to undermine the party in Kerala.

The defiant MLA stated he aimed to expose corrupt police officials involved with gold smuggling. He announced plans to visit 16 assembly constituencies in the area and address the issue publicly.

Anvar is set to conduct a public meeting in Nilambur on Sunday.

"I will take up the problems of the people. I will mobilise the people to raise these issues and defend myself," he said.

The MLA claimed that the police system had failed, allowing gold smuggling gangs to operate unchecked. "The gold smuggling complaints are not being investigated effectively. The state secretary's assertions of a comprehensive investigation are false," he stated.

He mentioned that the party's electoral sway in the region had diminished, as demonstrated by the CPM's significant loss in the parliamentary elections. Notably, popular leaders such as K K Shailaja did not suffer defeat due to their shortcomings. It was because the ruling front failed to win the support of the people.

Furthermore, the CPM has yet to undertake a thorough analysis to ascertain the causes of their overwhelming defeat in the parliamentary elections.

Regarding the protest marches organized against him by CPM workers across the state, Anvar stated that the party workers were following the state secretary's decision. "My battle is not with the CPM workers or the party itself. I aim to rally the public, particularly the youth, to address these issues," he explained.
