Malayalam Actor Idavela Babu arrested in actress assault case, released on bail

His arrest was recorded following a three-hour interrogation at the coastal police headquarters. He was subsequently released on bail, having secured anticipatory bail from the Ernakulam Sessions Court earlier.

A case was previously filed against Edavela Babu under IPC sections 354 (sexual assault), 376 (rape), and 509 (intending to insult a woman's modesty through acts, words, or gestures), based on a complaint from a female actor in Kochi. The same actress also lodged complaints against actors Mukesh, Jayasurya, Maniyanpilla Raju, Advocate V.S. Chandrashekharan, and Production Controllers Noble and Vichu.

The Special Investigation Team arrested Kollam MLA Mukesh related to a sexual assault case on Tuesday. Subsequently, he was released on bail.
