Wayanad Landslide Survivor Loses Fiancé to Road Accident
Thiruvananthapuram: In a tragic incident, Jenson, the fiancé of Wayanad landslide survivor Sruthi, who sustained grievous injuries in a road accident, passed away at a private hospital on Wednesday evening.
Sruthi had lost her entire family including father, mother, younger sister and six other close relatives in the devastating landslides that struck Wayanad's Meppadi and Chooralmala on July 30.
According to doctors, Jenson was unresponsive to medications earlier today following a brain haemorrhage and multiple clots. He was initially rushed to a local hospital and then transferred to the medical college when his condition worsened.
Sruthi also sustained head injuries in a head-on collision between the van they were travelling in and a private bus at Vellaramkunnu near Sulthan Bathery on Tuesday. She is currently receiving treatment at a private hospital.
Jenson, from Andoor near Ambalavayal, was set to marry Sruthi in December. Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan expressed shock over Jenson's death. The entire state is with Shruthi in this humungous tragedy, he said.
