MI Film Club Plans Special Screening to Celebrate 20th Year Fete

Hyderabad: Hyderabad’s Moving Images Film Club is celebrating its 20th anniversary with a special three-day screening from August 23 to 25, featuring four diverse films and interactive sessions with renowned directors and actors. The event will be held at the LV Prasad Preview Theatre and is free and open to all.

On August 23, Marathi film Baipan Bhari Deva (Womanhood is Tough) will be screened with actors Vandana Gupte and Sukanya Kulkarni, and director Kedar Shinde in attendance.

On August 24, the film Afwaah will be screened with director Sudhir Mishra, followed by lunch. Later, the Tamil film Kanam will be screened with director Shreekarthick.

On August 25, an interactive session with cinematographer Aseem Mishra, will be followed by the film Kadvi Hava (Bitter Wind) with director Nila Madhab Panda.

The club offers members the opportunity to watch carefully selected films in Hindi, English, and various Indian and foreign languages twice a month.

The event, supported by HydLitFest, Alliance Française, Goethe-Zentrum, and the Turkish Consulate, is celebrating exceptional cinema for the twin cities, a press release read.

Founded on August 28, 2004, by Aparajita Sinha, the daughter of filmmaker Bimal Roy, the Moving Images Film Club was inaugurated by poet, lyricist, writer, and director Gulzar. The club offers members the opportunity to watch carefully selected films in Hindi, English, and various Indian and foreign languages twice a month.
