Pranahita-Chevella Works Start Soon: Mallu

Pipri (Adilabad): Deputy Chief Minister Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka on Wednesday said the state government would restart the construction works of the Pranahita-Chevella irrigation project in four months at Thummidihatti to supply water to the people of the erstwhile Adilabad district.

He also said the canal works of the Korata-Chanaka and Komaram Bheem projects will be completed soon as also the construction works of the Sadarmat project. About Rs.400 crore was allocated in the state budget to various irrigation projects to be taken up and to modernize them in the erstwhile Adilabad district, he added.

Mallu was addressing a public meeting in Pipri village in Bajarhathnoor from where he launched his Peoples’ March padayatra last year. Talking about multiple development issues of the erstwhile Adilabad district, Mallu said, “We will also resolve the issue of pattas to podu lands, start the construction of Indiramma houses soon with Rs.5 lakh for general beneficiaries and Rs.6 lakh for beneficiaries from SC and ST communities and will return the lands of the SCs, STs and the poor who lost them to the Dharanti portal,” adding that a cabinet sub-committee was formed on this issue.

Mallu said his padayatra was launched from Pipri village of Adilabad district on March 16, 2023, and concluded in Khammam covering nearly 1,000 villages on July 2 and. On this occasion, he also distributed cheques to beneficiaries and various SHGs and laid foundation stones to development works valued at Rs.20 crore. The Deputy Chief Minister also remembered the contribution of the balladeer late Gaddar to the People’s March by participating in it till the end and said Gaddar’s wishes and aspirations of people’s empowerment would be fulfilled.
