Chennai Press Club to Hold Elections After 25 Years

 Chennai: The Chennai Press Club, one of journalists’ organizations in Chennai, will see elections for its managing committee on December 15 after 1999 with Retired Judge of the Madras High Court V Bharathidasan conducting the polls as per the by-laws of the club.

A complete set of new office bearers – a president, 2 vice presidents, a general secretary, a treasurer, 2 joint secretaries and five committee members – will be chosen through the elections for which filing of nominations will begin on November 30 and go on till December 7, between 2 pm to 5 pm.

Scrutiny of the nominations will be held on December 9 and withdrawal will be on December 10 from 10 am to 5 pm, after which the final list of contestants would be published. Only primary members of the club will be eligible for contesting and voting in the elections.
