Scouts & Guides Jamboree in Chennai

Chennai: The diamond jubilee national jamboree of the Bharat Scouts and Guides would be held in memory of Kalaignar M Karunanidhi in the State, according to the Minister for School Education Anbil Mahesh Poyyamozhi.

The Minister had made the announcement in the State Assembly during the demand for grants for his department for 2024-25, recalling that the silver jubilee jamboree of the Scouts and Guides was organized during the tenure of former Chief Minister M Karunanidhi in the year 2000.

The diamond jubilee event marking the memory of Karunanidhi would be held at an expense of Rs 10 crore, he said. Now the fund allotments have been made by the department.
