Chennai: The standoff between the Chief Minister M K Stalin and the Leader of the Opposition Edappadi K Palaniswami on Friday over the time taken for the filing of FIR on the Pollachi sex scandal was resolved with Speaker M Appavu announcing the House that Stalin had proved his claim through the production of evidence.

Stalin had said, during the heated discussion in the House, that it took 12 days for the filing of the FIR while Palaniswami said that it was done the same day. Both agreed to provide evidence of the claims to the Speaker.

On Saturday, the Speaker said that Stalin was right when the other members of the AIADMK raised an uproar, which was quelled. The Speaker said that both leaders had agreed to leave the matter at that and hence he would allow any discussion on it.
