Tamil Nadu Govt Holiday List for 2025 Out
Chennai: The State government has announced 24 public holidays, including the bank accounts closing day on April 1 for commercial banks alone, for the year 2025 that starts with a holiday for New Year on January 1.
The other holidays in January are for Pongal (Jan 14), Thiruvalluvar Day (Jan 15), Farmer’s Day (Jan 16) and Republic Day (Jan 26), while in the month of February the government offices would be closed for Thai Poosam on February 11.
Telugu New Year Day on March 30, Eid Ul Fitr (Ramzan) on March 31, Mahavir Jayanthi on April 10, Tamil New Year’s Day and B R Ambedkar’s birth anniversary on April 14, Good Friday on April 18 and May Day on May 1 are the other regular holidays.
In June offices would be closed on Idul Azhar (Bakrid) on June 7, which would be followed by Muharram on July 6 and August will see Independence Day on the 15th, Krishna Jayanthi on the 16th and Vinayagar Chathurthi on the 27th.
September will have a single holiday for Milad-un-Nabi on the 8th, while October will have Ayudha Pooja on the 1st, Vijayadasami and Gandhi Jayanthi on 2nd, to be followed by Deepavali on October 20 and Christmas on December 25.
