Tamil Nadu: Grama Sabha Meeting on Nov. 23

 Chennai: The State Rural Development and Panchayat Raj department had urged the authorities concerned to conduct on Saturday, November 23, the Grama Sabha meeting, which could not be held all over the State on Friday, November 1, which is observed as Local Bodies Day, due to administrative reasons.

An official communication said that the rescheduled meeting should be held at 11 am on November 23 and it should be ensured that it would not be convened in any premises with religious significance. The venue and time should be publicized for the people concerned to know about it in advance.

Details of the meeting should also be uploaded in the Namma Grama Sabha mobile App.

Grama Sabha meetings are mandatorily convened six days in a year. Apart from November 1, the grama sabhas meet for Republic Day on January 1, World Water Day on March 22, Workers Day on May 1, Independence Day on August 15 and Gandhi Jayanthi Day on October 2.
