Tamil Nadu: Work on new film city to start soon

Chennai: Construction of a new film city in Thiruvallur district, as announced by Chief Minister M K Stalin in the State Budget, would start soon and the land required for the project was inspected by Minister for Sports Development and Youth Welfare, Udhayanidhi Stalin.

Minister for Tamil Development and Information, M P Saminathan, said that film city would come up on a 150 acre land that had been identified and would soon be converted for the purpose.

The Minister was inspecting the construction of studios at the Tamil Nadu Government Film and Television Training Institute at Taramani on Wednesday. The Chief Minister had ordered the construction of the new studio facilities at a cost of Rs 39.33 corre.

The new studio floors would be a boon for film makers and those involved in the television business as all facilities would be available there.
