YSRCP Rajya Sabha MP Masthan Rao’s daughter held in hit and run case in Chennai, gets bail
Chennai: The Chennai police arrested YSRCP Rajya Sabha MP Beeda Masthan Rao’s daughter Madhuri in connection with a hit and run incident that took place in Besant Nagar in Chennai.
The police later granted station bail to 33-year-old Madhuri in the case. While travelling in a BMW, she allegedly ran over a 24-year-old painter Surya, sleeping on a pavement in Besant Nagar. When locals intercepted and questioned her after the incident, Madhuri argued with them at the spot.
A video in which she said, “I did it” went viral on social media and yet she got bail. Responding to Madhuri’s bail, a netizen tweeted, “Now, this is why people take law into their own hands. She got bail so easily probably due to influence. Only the common man is left to fend for himself. Case will drag on for years and years.”
Another netizen said, “In my opinion, the individual sleeping on the pavement was under the influence of alcohol. Regardless, the law must hold those responsible for hit and run incidents. Justice must be served.”
