Warangal:The implementation of a strict one-minute rule on Sunday prevented several candidates from attending Group-2 examinations in Warangal and Karimnagar districts. The rule, which enforces a precise timeline, caught several students off guard when they arrived late at their exam centres.

On the first day of examinations, which commenced at 10 am, some candidates failed to reach on time. In strict adherence to the one-minute rule, officials at these centres denied entry to latecomers.

Five candidates were refused permission to attend the centre at Christu Jyothi Engineering College in Jangaon district. Additionally, in Jayashankar Bhupalpally district, a candidate who arrived two minutes late at Sri Chaitanya School center was not allowed to appear for the examination.

The appeals of three students, who were late by a few seconds at the S.R. Junior College centre in Warangal, were also dismissed. Moreover, two applicants who reported late at Sadhana High School center verbally abused officials after being denied entry.

In a particularly unfortunate incident, a woman with a newborn lost the opportunity to take the examination due to an error by officials. They failed to properly check her hall ticket and centre code, allowing her entry initially. However, it was later discovered that her centre had been changed during the handover of her OMR sheet. The candidate herself did not verify the centre code correctly until she was informed that she had arrived at the wrong centre. When she proceeded to the correct centre, she was denied entry in accordance with the one-minute rule.

In Warangal district, out of 11,310 applicants, only 5,275 candidates appeared for the test. In Karimnagar district, out of 26,978 candidates, only 13,273 attended the examination.
