19 TG police officers get kudos for selection in UN peace mission

Hyderabad: Altogether 19 police officers from Telangana came out with flying colour when they cleared the toughest examination for selection on deputation in the United Nations international peacekeeping mission. These shortlisted police officers were congratulated by the top ranking police officials and were also felicitated on Thursday.

The nineteen passouts from the state also hoisted the police flag on the occasion. At least 225 police officers from across the country took the test at 22nd Battalion of the ITBP in New Delhi for deputation in the UN international peacekeeping mission. The examination was conducted between June 6 and June 15. Out of 225 examinees, 164 were selected, among which nineteen police personnel were from Telangana.

Two officers from New York were overseeing the examination process wherein the candidates took the test of English language, driving and firing test and others.

Following were the candidates from Telangana shortlisted for the UN peace mission — assistant commissioner of police, CCS (Hyderabad) KM Kiran Kumar, Telangana Narcotics Bureau ACP Narsinga Rao, commandant Alex, SP Devender Singh, Challa Sridhar of Telangana Narcotics Bureau, DSP (vigilance enforcement) Pratap, ACP Jupalli Ramesh, ACP Garu Majidhali Khan, DSP Sridhar Reddy Kodada, inspector of police Suresh, Vijayakumar (CID), head constable Srinivasulu and others.
These shortlisted police officers from the state will be provided training in tackling internal crisis in coordination with member countries. The selected police officers from the state government will be sent on deputation following issuance of an order from the central government, stated the press release issued from the state police.
