2 buses of B.V. Raju collide; 1 dead

Hyderabad: One person died and at least ten students were injured when two buses belonging to B.V. Raju Institute of Technology, Narsapur, collided on the Narsapur-Sangareddy Road in Medak district on Friday afternoon.

The deceased was identified as Nagaraju, 50.

According to Narsapur sub-inspector Lingam, one bus had 30 students and the other one was did not have any students.

The bus with no students tried to overtake an auto, but the bus driver lost control and hit the other bus coming from the opposite side. The driver of the bus consisting of students too was gravely injured.

After receiving information, Narsapur Police reached the spot and shifted the injured to different hospitals. Two students received serious injuries.

“The ones who were gravely injured and needed immediate treatment were shifted to MNR Hospital in Narsapur. The others, who sustained minor injuries, were sent to the Malla Reddy Narayana Multispeciality Hospital in Jeedimetla, Hyderabad,” said the college’s training and placement officer Dr J. Bangarraju.

“The drivers were not intoxicated. We haven’t received a complaint from any parents yet but have received a complaint from the deceased’s wife,” said Lingam.
