Hyderabad: Two persons including a housewife were murdered in separate incidents in the city since Tuesday. Businessman Syed Fakruddin, 30, succumbed to injuries when he tried to save Mohammed Wajid, 33, from being stabbed in the early hours of Wednesday.

According to complainant Mohammed Sajid, he was returning home on his bike around 2 am when he found people quarrelling near Fatima Hospital in Shalibanda. Sajid saw Asad and Anwar attacking Mohammed Wajid with daggers when Fakruddin and Waseem tried to stop them.

Fakruddin suffered critical injuries while Waseem and Wajid suffered injuries on their hands. Fakruddin succumbed to injuries in OGH while Waseem and Wajid are undergoing treatment, Shalibanda police said.

The accused, Asad and Anwar, both history sheeters, armed with daggers, had planned to kill Mohammed Wajid over a financial dispute but stabbed Fakruddin when he tried to restrict them, police said.

In a separate case, Uppatala Roja, 30, was stabbed to death by her husband Uppatala Laxman at her house in Addagutta under Tukaramgate police station late on Tuesday night.

According to Tukaramgate police, the accused, Laxman, who is a habitual drunkard, suspected Roja’s fidelity and killed her. The accused was taken into custody. Roja’s body was shifted to Gandhi Hospital mortuary and after post-mortem, it was handed over to her family.
