3,500 Indiramma Houses for Each Assembly Segment Bring Cheers
Nizamabad: At least 3,500 Indiramma houses for each Assembly constituency were sanctioned by the state government while guidelines are awaited for taking up of the construction of houses.
In the BRS government, a double bed room scheme was launched and no financial aid was given to poor families to construct houses on their own. If any family possesses land, they can construct the double bed room houses under the Indiramma housing scheme.
Initially, the state government will give Rs 5 lakh for each 2 BHK house construction. If the beneficiary belongs to scheduled castes and scheduled tribes, they can get Rs 6 lakh as Indiramm housing aid.
In Nizamabad district, the BRS government sanctioned 15,304 2BHK houses, but only 6,162 houses were constructed under five Assembly constituencies.
Completed 2BHK houses were also not allotted to the beneficiaries for last six years. As a result, the houses got into dilapidated condition. Few 2 BHK houses are allotted to the poor in Banswada, Balkonda and Nizamabad rural Assembly constituencies. In Nizamabad urban, Bodhan and Armoor Assembly constituencies, houses were not allotted to the needy.
In this context, the poor are eagerly waiting for financial aid from the state government under the Indiramma housing scheme. They are hopeful that Rs 5 lakh aid would speed up the construction of Indiramma houses in municipal towns.
