54 Government School Headmasters Issued Show-Cause Notices

Warangal: Probably for the first time in the state, 54 headmasters of various government schools have been issued show cause notices on orders by Jangaon district collector Rizwan Basha.

The collector held a review meeting with nodal officers of all mandals with special focus on the education department.

Observing the reports presented at the meeting, Rizwan Basha expressed shock at the percentage of attendance of students and teachers. 47 schools reported less than 25 per cent students attending the school. Less than 60 per cent of teachers attended seven schools.

The collector ordered district education officer (DEO) K. Ramu to issue show cause notices to headmasters of these 54 government schools, which include primary and high schools, Zilla parishad and Gurukul residential schools.

Following this, DEO Ramu issued show-cause notices to all the 54 headmasters on Thursday.

Parents of school children have also complained that since school teachers are irregular, their children are not showing any interest in attending the schools.
