844 GP Secretaries Go on Leave in Nalgonda

 Nalgonda: All 844 gram panchayat secretaries in the district went on leave en masse on Wednesday protesting against the suspension of their colleagues by the district collector. The leaves affected the functioning of the gram panchayats.

District collector C. Narayana Reddy had suspended Gurrampode MPDO P. Manjula, Pulicherla gram panchayat secretary Nagaraju, and Vachtalayam gram panchayat secretary K. Swapna for their alleged negligence in the works related to sanitation, fogging machines, and compost sheds. However, their colleagues demanded the withdrawal of the suspension order.

According to the sources, the GP secretaries are planning to go on a pen-down strike from Thursday.
